This dynamic MT-09SP is built to inspire today’s generation of thrill seeking riders like no other bike in its class.

The SP features the same intimidating LED twin-eye face, explosive high torque triple engine, ultra-sharp front winglets, radiator side fins and refined bodywork. But your riding experience will  be transported to the next level thanks to the addition of upgraded Öhlins rear suspension and two-way compression adjustable forks similar to our R6 supersports model. The SP also gets black bars, trick new dash, a double stitch seat, model logo graphics on the wheels and an eye-catching colour scheme that echoes the big dog  
MT-10SP.

Compact and lightweight liquid-cooled 3-cylinder engine

The MT-09’s 3-cylinder engine has been developed to embody the essence of Yamaha’s ‘crossplane philosophy’ which is designed to ensure instant throttle response together with strong low to mid-range torque.

Aggressively styled twin-eye LED headlights

Influenced by the uncompromising image of the flagship MT-10, the radically styled face of the MT-09 features an aggressive new LED twin-eye headlight design that underlines this bike’s forceful image as well as its compact and lightweight feel.

Exclusive Colour Scheme

To underline its premium specification, the MT-09 SP is finished in an exclusive Silver Blu Carbon colour scheme that’s been inspired by our class-leading MT-10 SP. Other special features include blue 10-spoke wheels with SP graphics, as well as black instruments and black handlebar controls, and a unique seat with blue stitching.

Öhlins rear shock and adjustable forks

For precise handling performance the MT-09 SP uses a premium quality fully adjustable Öhlins rear shock that features a remote adjuster for quick and easy chassis set up. And the adjustable gold coloured forks enable you to fine-tune the rebound and compression damping characteristics for enhanced controllability.

Electronic control technology

The MT-09SP’s advanced electronic control technology is ready to adapt to different riding situations and varying road surfaces. The 3-position D-MODE function lets you adjust engine power character from mild to aggressive, while the Traction Control System (TCS) and ABS intervene when required to enable you to achieve high levels of control.
